We are by no means food experts, nor are we professional cooks, but we are passionate beginners and curious outsiders. We are committed to learn and discover healthy and simple ways to prepare food. Austin Kleon wrote in his book Show Your Work: “Amateurs are just regular people who get obsessed by something and spend a ton of time thinking out loud about it…” This blog is the enthusiastic “thinking out loud” from us amateurs. We hope that you will come along with us as we embark on this adventure.
You will discover with us all sorts of delicious recipes, and along with the food, Joan will share colorful little stories of her life straddling both continents, (or mawkish little anecdotes as Angela calls them.) Feel free to skip them and cut to the chase. Here’s a brief sampling of the types of recipes we’ll try out and share with you:
